Cyber Security Writing for Analysts and Consultants
This cyber security writing course treats the report as the deliverable, because the report is what a client, a regulator or an executive actually sees. Four weeks, one skill: making written security work land.
You write real artifacts every week and have them reviewed line by line. Incident reports, penetration test findings, executive summaries, risk memos, and the short email that decides whether anything happens. Sessions run live in Toronto's timezone.

What you will be able to do
- Write an incident report a reader outside your team can follow without phoning you
- State a finding with evidence, impact and a recommendation in under 200 words
- Produce an executive summary that survives being read on its own
- Rewrite a technical paragraph for a reader who does not know the technology
- Express risk in a memo without overstating what you actually know
- Cut a draft by a third without losing meaning
- Give review comments that improve a document rather than start an argument
- Write an escalation email that gets a decision the same day

What you need before you start
- Working written English; the course teaches structure and clarity, not grammar from scratch
- Some exposure to security work, including as a student or in a related IT role
- Willingness to have your writing marked up in front of a small group
- A word processor and roughly two hours a week for drafting
