- Run an authenticated vulnerability scan and rank findings by CVSS and real exposure
- Harden a Windows server and a Linux host against common attack paths
- Choose the right cryptographic control for data at rest and in transit
- Explain container and macOS security differences to a mixed IT team
- Map a control you have implemented to the Security+ exam domains

- Packet analysis with Wireshark and tcpdump

- Comfort using a computer daily and installing software
- Basic understanding of what an IP address and a file system are
- A machine with 8 GB of RAM and a stable connection for lab work
